Day 5 "My GOD"

This is us at the front of the line for a restaurant.  We waited 30 min to get to this point.  We were lucky beyond all belief.  Usually it's about an hour wait to get to this point.  The line would go down those stairs, outside, turn a right go down a block, past the street and down another block.  Apparently it is a place that you MUST GO TO, while in Japan.  We lined up with some friends.  It wasn't so bad.  They even gave us fans while we waited in line.  Later on we joke about how it was great that we got in line for this.  Not for the food but for those fans.  Man the fans were quite a life-saver.  There's my mom holding the fan.

The restaurant is located in an indiscriminate location.  In fact the only way we knew it was the restaurant was the sign that we couldn't read and the obscene line forming outside of it.  Like I said when we told people that we waited only 30 min to get into This place everyone was amazed, shocked, and envious.  Yea, that's right.

So what made this place so special?  What kind of food did they serve?

Here's the menu:

Why is everything green?  Because this place has a specialty.  This place's specialty is green tea.  That's it.  That's all they serve.  This is only a page of what they offer.  But look at it... you get the point.  There's more though, oh man is there more.  I was shocked to see what they could do with green tea.  Either way, MAN, the Japanese are obsessed with Green tea.

This is the stuff we got:

I got this.  I wasn't feeling hungry but man was I hellava thirsty.  This is some sort of green tea milkshake I guess.

My father got this.  It's shaved ice with red beans, and green tea syrup I guess.

This is the deluxe green tea schmorgus board.  My mom got it.  Then she ate only a quarter of it and dad and I had to finish the rest.  I don't even know what kind of stuff they put in here but it was good.

So how good was this place?

Well, sure it was nice but let's put it this way, afterwards we talked more about the fans we got while waiting than the actual green tea stuff that we ate.  I guess it's worth the 30 min wait.  But maybe not the "end of the line when it's wrapped around the block five times wait."
